Moving Out of Zoha Islands
Yesterday, I decided to move out of Zoha Islands even though I still have a few days left on my rent. I've been renting with Zoha Islands for some months now and I've never had any problems with the land I was renting with them.
My decision to move out of Zoha Islands was mainly because of this feeling that they are starting to get more strict with their payment collection. Well, being strict isn't bad but I just don't want to log-in one day to find all my items returned to me because I missed the payment date by a day or two.
Zoha Islands doesn't use Rental Boxes. If you want to see how many days are remaining on your rent then you'll have to go to their headquarters and click on an ATM and, unlike Rental Boxes, their ATMs don't send notification of rental expiration. The ATMs also don't immediately show how many days are left in your rent. You'll have to click on it and navigate a menu to find out.
I don't login to Second Life everyday and there are even times when I won't login for weeks. That is why, notifications are very important to me because I can get them through my e-mail. I can then login and pay the rental box what I owe. Of course, residents who are in-world everyday and those who regularly login to Second Life won't have any problems with the ATM setup.
For now, Zoha Islands manually sends payment collection notice notecards and its good because I get notified in my e-mail. From there, I'll login to my account and pay for another month. But, what if one day they forget to send a payment collection notice notecard to me then I wouldn't receive any notification in my e-mail and will eventually forget to pay up.
If that happens then one of their Estate Managers will see the default in payment and will surely reclaim the land I am renting which would then send all my items back to me. This would be bad because I am hosting all my magic boxes there. If they get returned to me then they won't be able to serve or send items purchased from Second Life Marketplace and metaLIFE which will result to lost sales.
My new location is at Key Pengo (202, 154, 22). It's on a private estate owned and managed by Rockhopper Estates. Below are snapshots of my new place in Second Life.
I found this piece of land by searching using the in-world search feature of the Second Life V2 viewer. I visited a few locations but decided on this one because the price was okay, the covenant is okay, the location is okay and the estate owner offers refunds on unused rental period which is more than OKAY!
They also use Rental Boxes which is very much okay with me because, if it's like most Rental Boxes, it will send payment notifications when my rent is about to expire. When that happens, I can just quickly pop-in and pay the Rental Box. It also shows how many days are left on my rent and I can also use it to request a refund if I decide to move out before my rent expire.
The new place has lots of FREE ITEMS for everyone like free shirts, free custom fishing rods, free skins, etc. Of course, I still have a 7Seas Fishing Area where people can enjoy fishing and catch many Custom Fishing Rods, Custom Fishes and other catchable items.

Thanks for the mention, Kabalyero. We didn't have a server set up on Key Pengo yet, but now I have a place to use my bait buckets there too.

ReplyDeleteZoha islands is such a waste real estate agent. He thinks he runs second life.If any time an argument arises he would warn you that he would get your IP banned by LL. So,That is how they threaten you using the linden labs. Poor LL they don't know how this zoha is misusing their name.
