Second Life Residents Helping Victims Of Typhoon Haiyan
Typhoon Haiyan was a very strong typhoon and it devastated the countries of Vietnam, China and the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan left thousands of people dead and thousands more were left sick, hungry and homeless.
In the Philippines, the province of Leyte was severely hit by Typhoon Haiyan leaving behind death and suffering to those who survived. The government is doing its best to provide relief goods in the form of food, water and clothing but more are needed specially in the following days to come.
To help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, Second Life residents have started donating Linden Dollars in the Donation Box that was placed in a Special Booth at the Entrance of The Water Lantern Festival in Second Life.
As of this writing, the Donation Box has received a total donation of 196,790 Linden Dollars. This is equivalent to $700 to $800 USD. The Donation Box is owned by a resident named typhoonhaiyan but the funds will eventually be transferred or given to the International Red Cross Organization.
If you are a Second Life resident and wants to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan but can't donate real funds then why not donate a few Linden Dollars instead. You can also help by purchasing an item in the Special Booth where the Donation Box is located. All proceeds from items sold in that special booth will go to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
